To Our One Presence

by

in

One presence: Our presence.

A room full of faces, like a field full of flowers, or a tree full of fruit:

one presence through all.

The one presence in all – in one and all.

all and one. What names are there to call?

What faces are there to exchange a smile?

Who speaks through all these voices.

Who smiles through all these lips.

Who breathes through all these noses.

One oceans fill every cove.

One sun shines through every window.

Loving and recognizing the presence in ourselves

loving presence

hateful presence

motherly presence

fatherly presence

fearful presence

shameful presence

all these adjectives, colours, flavours, and fragrances,

deities and demons flowing through our lives,

like winds carrying pollen through a field –

the sky bears all scents but has no perfume.
